Exciting things are happening in Kendall, Florida! One of the major projects on the horizon is Shoma 88.
This 28-story mixed-use development by Shoma Group will include 405 rental units, with 40% of them set aside for workforce housing. Besides the apartments, there will be 105,000 square feet of medical office space and 8,000 square feet of retail space. The building will also feature a rooftop pool, gym, sauna, business center, kids' playroom, and clubhouse. The construction is set to start in early 2025 and should be completed within about 30 months.
Rumor has it that Shoma 88 will be located at 9595 Southwest 88th Street (North Kendall Drive), right by the ramps for the 878 and 874 highways and K-Land Park. The spot currently has some low-rise office and commercial buildings. Ladyfish Kendall LLC bought this property last year for $9.8 million, but it's not clear if they are linked to the Shoma Group.
It makes a lot of sense for this new development to include medical office space, especially with Baptist Hospital nearby, which is always expanding to meet the community's healthcare needs.
This development is set to make Kendall an even better place to live, offering modern living spaces, essential services, and convenient amenities all in one location. We’ll be keeping an eye on Shoma 88 as it progresses and will share more information as it becomes available from the developer. Stay tuned to My Casitas Miami for the latest updates on this exciting project!
